Child Therapy

Individual therapy is offered to preschool and primary school aged children. Priority will always be given to the children of parents who have already completed the Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P) course. It makes the therapy significantly more effective. 

It's not what you think

Sessions are usually conducted outside.

Parents are encouraged to tag along and observe.

Children develop a deep relationship with the psychologist.

Your child’s confidence will improve. 

Your child will become more okay with a wider range of emotions.

You will observe your child move in and out of transitions from task to task.

Inside sessions involve drawing, playing and laughing. 

Outside sessions involve deepening connections to the local environment. 

Therapy emphasises strengths while helping with struggles. 

Your child will not know he or she is going to see a “psychologist”. 

Matt’s child therapy is informed by attachment psychology, narrative therapy, mindfulness meditation practices and nature mentoring.
